Accept all Only criticalYou always need to make an appointment to visit the Consulate General in New York, e.g. to submit a citizenship related application, apply for a coordination number, pick up a new passport or driver license, to get a document notarized, or a life certificate signed. After our move to new offices in October 2016 we can unfortunately no longer offer drop-in service. The building regulations require that all visitors have appointments. Please note that we do not handle any applications for visas or residence permits but must refer all such matters to the Embassy in Washington DC.
To visit the consulate for any reason except to apply for a passport, follow the instructions below. (If you want to apply for/renew a passport, click here.)
The booking system will offer two options in a drop-down menu:
1) apply for a passport/ID card
2) visit us during reception visiting hours
→Choose option 2!
> The booking system will ask how many people you. Make the appointment in an adult's name! State your phone number in the following format: +19175550000, no spaces or hyphens.
