Coordination number for children born in Cameroon

Swedish children* that are born outside of Sweden and have not been residing in Sweden must obtain a Coordination number (Personal Identity Number), before a passport can be issued. The Coordination number is issued by The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). It is the Embassy that request for the number to be issued. This is done when the parents wishes to apply to issue the first passport for the child.

The child must be presented to the Embassy in Abuja together with, at least, one parent.
***
Step 1: Ensure all relevant documents are prepared for the visit.
Step 2: Book an appointment and visit the Embassy for application. Child and at least one parents to attend.
Step 3: Await notification from Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency) that the number is ready.
Step 4: When the Coordination number is ready (takes about 6-8 weeks), make an appointment at the Embassy in Abuja to take biometric data for the issuance of an ordinary passport. If the Embassy has agreed to issue an emergency passport, contact the Embassy about the travel plans.
