National ID Card in Ireland

Applications for national ID cards can be made at police authorities in Sweden and at Swedish Embassies abroad that are authorised to carry out passport services. Information is available on the Police's website. The Embassy in Dublin has not been authorised to issue national ID cards.

Collecting ID Cards 

It is possible to collect ID cards at the Embassy in Dublin if specified at the time of application. After you have received a notification from the Swedish police that the ID card has arrived in Dublin, it can be collected during the Embassy's office hours. A handling fee of €17 is payable at the Embassy.

Embassy Visiting Hours:

  • Tuesdays 10:30-12:30
  • Wednesdays 14:30-16:30
  • Thursdays 10:30-12:30
