Renewal of Passports for Adults in Ireland

Applications for ordinary passports (or national ID cards) can be made at police authorities in Sweden and at Swedish Embassies abroad that are authorised to carry out passport services. Information is available on the Police's website and on regeringen.se. The Embassy in Dublin has not been authorised to issue ordinary passports, but can issue emergency passports (see information under a separate heading) if a passport has expired or been lost.

Collecting Passports

It is possible to collect passports at the Swedish Embassy in Dublin if specified at the time of application. After receiving a notification from the Swedish Police that the passport has arrived in Dublin, it can be collected during the Embassy's visiting hours. A handling fee of €17 is payable at the Embassy upon collection.
