Renewal of passport for adults in Cyprus
For a person who has reached the age of 18 and previously had a Swedish passport, the following is required:
- Personal visit to the embassy.
- Previous passport or another valid photo ID.
- The form "Information for verification of Swedish citizenship" filled in.
- Extract of the Swedish population registry not older than 3 months from the Swedish Tax Agency to prove population registration or deregistration.
- If the passport has been stolen / lost, a police report must be made, and a police report submitted.
- If you have moved from Sweden, a residence permit in the country of residence must be presented. In Cyprus, this is a registration certificate for EU citizens.
- If you also have another citizenship, proof of this must be presented.
- If you have obtained Swedish citizenship through application, an original certificate of citizenship must be presented.
- The fee for the passport, corresponding to SEK 1,600 in local currency is paid by debit card or cash in EUR at the embassy. For cash payments, please bring exact amount.
- If you wish to receive the passport at another Swedish Embassy or Consulate, you must inform the officer before the application process is commenced.
Note! All documents must be original documents.
According to the new Passport Act, which came into force on 15 April 2016, Swedish citizens can be granted a maximum of three ordinary passports during a five-year period.
Passport collection:
Passport and national ID card must be obtained in person; power of attorney does not apply. Bring previous passports for cancellation and receipt. If the passport application has been made in Sweden, a fee corresponding to SEK 200 in local currency applies, which can be paid in cash or by card at the embassy.
