To apply for a Swedish ordinary passport/national ID card or emergency passport in Australia, a pre-booked appointment is required. In order for an application to be registered, the applicant must have either a Swedish personal identity number or coordination number.
Appointments to apply for a Swedish ordinary passport/national ID card at the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra are booked online via the Embassy's e-booking system (website managed by the Swedish Migration Agency). It is not possible to book an appointment via telephone or email. If you have an existing booking and want to change or cancel your appointment, this is also done via the e-booking system.
If no appointments are shown in the e-booking system’s calendar, this means that the appointments that have been released so far are currently all booked. You can then look again at a later time. If an appointment is cancelled by another visitor, it is released in the calendar and can then be booked by someone else. New appointments are released continuously, approximately 2-3 months in advance. If no appointments are available to book online, there are also no appointments available to book via telephone or email.
If you book an appointment and can no longer attend, or if the appointment is no longer needed, it is important that you change or cancel the appointment so that it can be booked by someone else.
