New travel restrictions to Sweden

Information from the Swedish Police relating to changes in the entry ban to Sweden.

From 21 December the government changed the entry ban: the same requirements now apply for all foreign travelers from the EU / EEA when entering Sweden. This means, among other things, that a negative covid-19 test (maximum 72 hours old) or the EU covid certificate, except in some cases, will now be required also when entering from a Nordic country.

On 22 December, the government again decided to change the entry ban as of 28 December : all foreign travelers, regardless of which country they travel from, must be able to show a negative test result for ongoing covid 19 infection (maximum 48 hours old) on arrival in Sweden. Vaccine or recovery certificates can no longer be used instead of a negative test. Exceptions apply to certain categories, e.g. border commuters.
